emily's new family
Hello! My mom and dad visited for a week and departed on Friday. Now it's kind of quiet and lonely around here, plus today was back to work for me. We had a great week, gallivanting around Boston, day tripping to Newport, and eating our way through new and old favorite restaurants. I have lots of photos to share, but first, some fantastic news:
Emily got adopted!
The lovely shelter staff made a point of telling me how awesome her new family is. They said that although they had lots of inquiries about her, they held out until the perfect setting came along. Emily's mom and dad gamely posed for this picture, featured on the MSPCA's Facebook page, and her mom later left a comment on the photo to report that Emily (who went by Jahan at the shelter and is now named Blue) is doing well.
The summery backdrop and straw hats worn by Emily's parents are in celebration of the shelter's June cat adoption campaign, SPF75 (Seeking Purrfect Families). Thanks to a family's donation in honor of a boy who loved cats, the shelter is offering a reduced adoption fee of $75 throughout the month for adult cats over the age of one year. Check out the ever-growing SPF75 Adopt-a-thon album for more silly, happy photos of kitties with their new families.
